Structure and scope of the online integration course
Our virtual language support for migrants
Our flexible integration course from home consists of seven modules, each with a different focus. It lasts 700 hours, is divided into two parts and ends with two exams.
Language course: Here you learn the language
- 600 hours in total
- 6 smaller courses (modules) with 100 hours each

Die Module des Integrationskurses
In this module, you will learn the German language from scratch. The aim is for you to be able to communicate in everyday life and learn to read and write simple texts.
Content: Family, work, shopping and leisure.
Duration: 100 lessons of 45 minutes each.
Level: A1
The second module of the General Integration Course builds on Basic Course 1. The aim is for you to be able to communicate in more complex everyday situations and to learn to write short texts confidently.
Content: Finding accommodation, health and mobility.
Duration: 100 lessons of 45 minutes each.
Level: A1
Basic Course 3 deepens and consolidates the German language skills acquired in the previous modules and expands your vocabulary. The aim is for you to be able to communicate more confidently in German in many everyday situations.
Content: Environment, society and culture.
Duration: 100 lessons of 45 minutes each.
Level: A2
In this course, you will further expand on the knowledge you have acquired. The aim is for you to be able to communicate confidently in German even in more complex situations, such as at work.
Content: Work, education and politics.
Duration: 100 lessons of 45 minutes each.
Level: A2
The Advanced Course 2 is aimed at participants who already have German language skills at level A2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
Content: Improve your communication skills in everyday life and at work.
Duration: 100 lessons of 45 minutes each.
Level: B1
The Advanced Course 3 is suitable for participants with German language skills at level A2/B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
Content: Promoting oral and written expression skills.
Duration: 100 lessons of 45 minutes each.
Level: B1
The orientation course is the last part of the general integration course. The prerequisite is knowledge of German at level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The orientation course ends with the final LiD exam (“Living in Germany”).
Content: Aspects of coexistence, fundamental rights and the democratic basic order.
Duration: 100 teaching units of 45 minutes each.

Technical requirements
You don’t need much to take part in our interactive integration course digitally on the computer.
Computer or tablet
- A regular computer or laptop is fine.
- A tablet also works as long as it is not too small.
- Unfortunately, a smartphone is not enough.
Internet
- You need a stable internet connection.
- WiFi or LAN cable are both fine.
- The better the Internet, the better you can participate in the course.
Camera and microphone
- A camera so we can see you.
- A microphone so we can hear you.
- These are often already built into laptops.
Software
- We use simple programs for teaching.
- You don't have to install anything complicated.
- We'll explain to you how everything works.
